Are you ready to take the helm of financial operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Division Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This role is a key leadership position within our finance department and will report directly to the Corporate Controller / CFO. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements, budgets, internal controls, Job Status Reports, and revenue projections. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the financial health and growth of our company.
Responsibilities:
As a Division Controller, your responsibilities will be as follows:
1. Oversee the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
2. Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
3. Prepare and manage the company's annual budget, including the review and analysis of budget proposals and financial planning.
4. Prepare Job Status Reports and provide detailed analysis to management on project performance, cost savings, and other key financial metrics.
5. Develop and deliver accurate revenue projections to support strategic decision-making.
6. Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
7. Provide leadership and guidance to finance staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
8. Collaborate with other department heads to align financial management with operational goals and objectives.
9. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the role of Division Controller, you must possess the following:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
4. Proven experience in budget preparation, internal controls, Job Status Reports, and revenue projections.
5. Exceptional analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
6. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
