Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is located in Wilton, CT and they are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team ASAP! This position is 100%

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Serves as the primary receptionist for the Finance Department, handling inquiries and directing communications.
• Reviews invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
• Enters data for invoices, journal entries, and accounts payable while ensuring precision.
• Verifies the accuracy of data entry related to invoices, journal entries, and accounts payable transactions.
• Confirms invoices have the necessary approval signatures and align with appropriate expenditures.
• Organizes and maintains invoice records for efficient retrieval.
• Processes checks across all financial funds.
• Responds promptly and accurately to vendor inquiries and requests from other Town Departments.
• Assists with reconciliations and performs additional finance-related tasks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• 1-5 years of experience
• BA in Accounting is preferred
• Munis experience is highly preferred
• Detail oriented and strong communication skills
