Assistant Dairy Plant ManagerJob no: 506759 Position type: Full-Time 12-Month Department: 010208 - Custer Dairy Processing Plant Location: Main Campus - Starkville, MS Categories: Professional Position Open Date: Sep 22 2023 Position Function:Assist the plant manager with day-to-day production of the processing plant, processing of milk, cheese, butter, and ice cream. Responsible for all packaging and shipping.Salary Grade: 14Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.Area of Specialization:Custer Dairy Plant ProcessingAnticipated Appointment Date:November 2023. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Supervises personnel which typically incudes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.2. Trains employees on technique, methods, and procedures.3. May organize workload to ensure deadlines are met; may schedule work assignments in order of priority and date received.4. Performs maintenance of all equipment.5. Performs duties and responsibilities of other absent personnel when necessary.6. Responsible for packaging cheese.7. Experience: Five years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities described above.License Required:•Valid MS driver's license.•Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B).•Complete pre-employment drug tests which indicate an absence of illegal controlled substance abuse.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to perform mathematical calculations.Working Conditions and Physical EffortWork involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 75 pounds.
