Overview:

The Durham Bulls Baseball Club is seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to generate new corporate revenue through the sale of season tickets, group tickets, and client retention efforts. This role involves engaging with prospects and clients via phone, in-person presentations, and networking events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, relationship-building, and sports, with a proven track record of success in selling corporate ticket packages.

  • Achieve or exceed specified daily call and weekly sales appointment expectations.
  • Meet or surpass annual sales goals by prospecting, qualifying, and closing ticket sales opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing Bulls clients to ensure retention and growth.
  • Develop and execute innovative sales campaigns to drive ticket sales.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate computerized records of all clients and prospects.
  • Assist with customer service initiatives throughout the year, ensuring a positive experience for all clients.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of all Durham Bulls ticket products to effectively communicate value to the corporate community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Sales Skills: Proven ability to initiate phone calls, manage face-to-face appointments, and correspond via email to drive sales.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present sales materials to large groups and corporate clients.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Service: A creative, positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competency in basic computer software for managing records and creating presentations.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of proven success in high-level sales, particularly in ticket or corporate sales.
  • Experience in the sports or entertainment industry, with a strong understanding of ticketing and group sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement creative and innovative sales programs.
  • Familiarity with CRM software or ticketing systems (e.g., Salesforce, Archtics, or Ticketmaster).
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Established network within the corporate community or experience in B2B sales.
  • Passion for sports and knowledge of the Durham Bulls organization and Minor League Baseball.

  • Physical Requirements:
    1. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
    2. Willingness to assist with tarp pulls and other operational tasks as needed.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season.
