Summary The Business Planner is responsible for all financial planning for a retail product category or account. They work in partnership with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, and the account's Buying and Planning team. The role involves developing and executing sales, margin, and inventory financial plans for assigned SBU or accounts (department stores). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar capacity. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Account Executive and the account's buying team to set and achieve sales, margin, inventory goals, and brand strategies. Analyze the business to drive growth using store, climate, volume group, and overlay tools. Review weekly sales results from the account's reports and monitor plans and OTD pricing to maximize sales and minimize margin giveback. Monitor monthly markdown allowances if applicable. Coordinate with AE and the Design/Merchandise team to share selling information, category insights, SKU recommendations, and opportunities for the upcoming season. Regularly meet with the AE to discuss issues and opportunities. Travel to accounts and trade shows as required. Work with division team members to maximize internal sales and profitability, providing solutions for inventory sell-off. Collaborative Responsibilities Work with Demand Planning and Sales to create assortment recommendations. Partner with Demand Planning on unit projections for replenishment and key items. Maintain appropriate WOS levels in collaboration with the team, based on inventory components and historical data. Requirements High proficiency in retail math and Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze problems and resolve financial and merchandise issues. Self-motivated and proactive.
