POSITION PURPOSE
The chart reviewer reviews electronic health record data using natural language processing tools, provided by Regenstrief, to determine if the record contains specific information, as requested in the data collection form

Reviews electronic health record data using natural language processing tools, provided by Regenstrief Institute, in an efficient and effective manner.
Makes accurate and reliable notations according to specifications determined in the data collection form
Proactively communicate when ambiguous situations arise or further cohort definition is needed
Works collaboratively with data analysts and other organization and/or project team staff.
Maintains strict data confidentiality and security.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Requires bachelors degree in nursing, or related medical field required. Extensive experience in medical related field can be considered in place of degree..
Requires at least two years of experience working with medical/clinical data, to include reviewing medical charts. Licensure in clinical/healthcare fields preferred.
Requires broad-based knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
Requires effective verbal and written communication skills.
Requires the ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
Requires the ability work with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Working knowledge of data privacy laws and practices
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to interact and verbally communicate with groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to write reports and operational correspondence
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical charts
REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to think logically in order to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make sound decisions
