Job Description

Job Description

We are a digital marketing company that influences brand attitudes and product purchase decisions in neighborhood grocery stores, the modern medieval town square where people congregate weekly to buy their food, a necessity of life. We invented a “check in” kiosk—where shoppers simply identify themselves (scan their retailer’s loyalty card, enter mobile phone number, or point their phone camera to a QR code on our screen) which instantly clips all the digital coupons advertised in the retailer’s weekly flyer and personal coupons based on how they shop. Shoppers can push shopping reminders of the coupons they just clipped to their phone (a digital microsite we manage [not an App])—where they can explore brand videos or other information--or grab a shopping sheet that prints in 5 seconds providing product aisle numbers and additional product information. For targeting, we use an advanced AI neural network based data mining system that scores every offer for every shopper so each shopper receives their top mix. Our “check in” kiosks are installed in nearly 2,000 grocery stores on the East Coast including Food Lion, Harveys, and Winn-Dixie in the southeast and Price Chopper/Market 32 and likely Stop & Shop (on pilot completion) in the northeast. We expect our store network to grow by 50% over the next 18 months.

We are looking for an energetic, results driven marketing professional who enjoys teamwork & winning with clients to join our Marketing team to increase our Sales team productivity and expand program use by consumer packaged goods manufacturers. The ideal candidate has a background in marketing, retail and/or consumer packaged goods and is passionate about telling stories with data and working closely with our direct sales team to prospect for, sell, oversee execution, and report on advertising and promotion campaigns that connect brand messages and incentives to ground zero—the store—where shoppers make their purchase decisions. The position has a growth path into direct Sales or into Market Research (analyzing transaction data, incentives/advertising, and shopper response) or Category specialization (understanding the key factors that drive different Categories).

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Market Research, Business Administration or related field (required)
• 5-10 years of marketing experience in retail, CPG, promotion agency, technology, or couponing industry (preference)

Your responsibilities include:

• Partner with assigned Sales VPs and assist in account prioritization and strategies to develop their accounts
• Research brand strategies using information on the internet and available by visiting stores
• Analyze brand and associated category sales using proprietary data profiling tools (tied to retail grocery data) to identify brand promotion needs and threats
• Develop first drafts of campaign designs and participate in estimating results sales collateral announcing sales initiatives
• Track campaigns in-process and recommend adjustments, as appropriate, to better achieve client objectives
• Customize results presentations to best present recent campaign results and recommend next steps
• Participate in and/or lead client conversations across the range of client interactions: introduction to EPC, promotion strategy discussion, proposed campaigns, presentation of interim results, final results and recommendations, next campaign design
• Extract “best practice” narratives across campaigns to develop compelling stories on the value of data-driven promotion

Your skills:

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and capable of rapidly learning new applications
• Good communicator and listener
• Capable of conveying key concepts verbally and in writing
• Strong personal management skills, attention to detail and able to prioritize multiple projects.
• Critical thinking skills, consultative, solution-oriented forward thinker
• Comfortable analyzing and interpreting data to build compelling stories
• Personable, easily developing relationships internally and externally
• Self-motivated with ability to efficiently manage time and priorities.

The above is not an all-inclusive list of your responsibilities and skills, which may include suitable areas not specifically mentioned above.

The annual salary for this position is $65,000 to $85,000, based on your experience. We offer an excellent suite of employee benefits, including health insurance (includes vision), disability, flexible spending, and 401k with Company match.
