Clayton Services is searching for a Controller to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas.

Job Type: Direct-Hire

Pay Rate: $75,000 - $85,000/annually

Controller Responsibilities:

Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and comprehensive financial reporting to drive informed decision-making.

Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and standards specific to the automotive industry, maintaining the integrity of our financial practices.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Serve as the backup person to run payroll, if needed.

Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights into performance and trends.

Streamline day-to-day office operations to maximize efficiency and productivity across all departments.

Supervise administrative staff and manage office resources, ensuring optimal inventory of supplies and equipment.

Develop and maintain effective office policies and procedures to support organizational goals.

Partner with senior management to align financial strategies with overarching business objectives, driving growth and sustainability.

Contribute to the development and execution of operational strategies aimed at enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Prepare and present detailed financial reports to the management team, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal financial reporting regulations, safeguarding the organization's interests.

Monitor cash flow dynamics to optimize financial performance and meet the company's liquidity needs.

Controller Skills and Abilities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations applicable to the automotive sector.

Ability to run payroll and process invoices if a team member is out of the office.

Proficient in CDK software is a plus.

Proficient with ADP or a similar payroll software is a plus.

Controller Education and Experience:

High School Diploma.

5+ years of experience within the automotive industry, with at least three years as a Controller or Office Manager with financial duties.

Prior experience managing a team of direct reports.
