These services include everything from day care to boarding, training to grooming, and home care to veterinary care. Be it through our top-of-the-line veterinary services, or by introducing our customers’ pet to a new standard of training and day care, our mission is simple: Elevate the love and lives of pet families.

We are looking to add a Dog Trainer to our team at K9 Cabana Dog Resort & Training Center.

CORE RESPONSIBILITES (include but are not limited to):

• Create a training plan for the dog.
• Teach commands to the dog and pet parent.
• Be patient with a stubborn dog.
• Teach pet parents about dog behavior.
• Understand a pet parent’s needs.
• Work with the pet parent to teach them about their dog.
• Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior.
• Listen to pet parent concerns.
• Performs add-on services as needed.
• Follows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.

REQUIREMENTS:

Expertise & Experience:

• Must be a pet fanatic – pets are part of our family!
• One year of professional dog training experience required.
• Training certification preferred.
• Knowledge of various dog commands.
• Knowledge of different dog breeds.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to identify pet behavioral issues.
• Ability to create a plan of action for pet parents.
• CGC Evaluator, AKC Evaluator.

Physical:

• Must be able to work evenings and weekends
• Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
• Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
• Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.

REPORTS TO: General Manager

PAY: $16-20/hour DOE + 5% commission
