Job OverviewZordi, a pioneering AgTech company focused on making Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) hyper-scalable, is looking for an experienced, hands-on Farm Operations Manager to oversee our expanding strawberry greenhouse farm in Vineland, NJ. As part of a fast-growing team, you’ll play a key role in managing daily farm operations, optimizing productivity, and incorporating innovative technology to drive results. Reporting to the Production Department and collaborating with Engineering, you’ll lead greenhouse associates, coordinate with technical teams, and ensure the farm operates at peak efficiency with a high standard of crop care. Primary Focus: End-to-end site management, fostering operational efficiency, and overseeing day-to-day farm activities while directly supporting crop care alongside associates. Expected hours40-50 hours per weekMonday to Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch)Saturday or Sunday, half to full day shiftHoliday shifts Duties & ResponsibilitiesSystem Maintenance: Lead site maintenance efforts, troubleshoot basic site issues, and escalate more complex repairs as needed.Record Keeping & Inventory: Maintain accurate records for tracking purposes, including inventory management for inputs and equipment.Staff & Operations Coordination: Manage daily operations, overseeing teams responsible for plant care, harvesting, and packing.Crop Care Execution & Oversight: Partner with the Grower to create detailed crop care plans, then work hands-on with associates to execute these plans. Oversee and verify tasks like pruning, harvesting, and spraying, ensuring adherence to quality standards and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing feedback and corrections as needed.Hands-On Scouting & Crop Registration: Regularly scout plants alongside associates, documenting crop health and addressing any immediate concerns with the Grower to support timely interventions.Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to food safety standards and maintain a safe work environment for all employees.Incorporate Zordi proprietary technology. Requirements3-5 years in greenhouse production, with experience managing teams and shift work.Comfortable with manual tasks and direct supervision in greenhouse workflows.Comfortable working on Google Suite (Sheets, Words, Forms) etc. and various digital tools.Proficient in Spanish & English.Knowledgeable across operational and technical matters in greenhouse production.Skilled in equipment maintenance (irrigation, HVAC, etc.) and general operational troubleshooting.Ability to work in varied conditions, lift 50 lbs, and perform repetitive physical tasksHolds Forklift Operator Certification (or must obtain within the first 2 weeks of onboarding). Location Requirement: Reliable commuting to Vineland, NJ is required.
