Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Controller, Global Finance Director, the Manager of Finance is responsible for assisting the Controller and VP, Finance in oversight of finance function particularly A/R management, creative/production financial operations and financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles to provide strategic financial guidance to the company.

Responsibilities:

 Creative/Production Financial Operations:

· Work in partnership with internal functional team, clients and vendors to achieve successful events/shows.

· Oversee client billing and collections and coordinate funding vendor payment disbursement processes.

· Manage the client agreement process including approving budgets/SOWs and offering recommendations for process improvement.

· Ensure projects are closed timely and profit is recognized properly in the general ledger within the reporting period.

· Analyze project profitability and offer recommendations to improve future profitability.

A/R Oversight:

· Drive semi-monthly finance meetings providing updates on client A/R position and recommendations for delinquent accounts.

· Prepare monthly aged receivables reporting for management team driving action plan to improve cash flow.

· Collaborate closely with interdepartmental teams to resolve customer billing issues and disputes.

· Communicate appropriately with client representatives regarding any collection needs.

· Submit any physical checks received via Bank portal.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

· Assist in managing monthly close, performing an in-depth review/reconciliation and analysis of all key financial accounts and statements.

· Prepare monthly variance analysis report on general ledger activities ensuring profit and expense goals are met, reporting any material variance.

· Assist in preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly financial statements and ad hoc management reporting.

· Partner with leadership and advice on all finance-related matters on business transactions and accounting/regulatory standards.

· Assist with client contract administration, reviewing financial terms for adequacy and profit maximization.

· Develop and maintain agency accounting policies and procedures manual.

· Participate in year-end audit with the agency’s CPA firm as well as all government and regulatory agency audits as needed.

· Assist with preparation and maintenance of annual operating budget and monthly forecasts.

· Motivate, manage and review duties for Finance Coordinator

 

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

· Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant strongly preferred

· 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance with at least 2 years as manager

· Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel and financial software (Sage preferred)

· Industry experience within media relations/creative production in fashion & luxury retail space a plus

· Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work effectively within time constraints

· Ability to work beyond the presented issues to problem solve in a fast-paced environment

· Success in partnering with all levels within the organization and with clients

· Must continually improve processes for maximum efficiency

· Strong technical accounting and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skill
