Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for palletizing and shrink-wrapping products, cleaning and sanitizing workstations, moving products/materials with manual pallet jacks, and weighing products before they are brought to the warehouse. Additionally, candidates will read and record digital weights on a small scale, move filled bags weighing up to 50 lbs (with assistance required for weights over 50 lbs), and push/pull bowls weighing up to 1,000 lbs (on wheels). This position is physically demanding and requires adherence to company policies regarding weight limits and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Palletize and shrink wrap products
• Clean and sanitize workstations
• Move products/materials with manual pallet jacks
• Weigh products before transport to the warehouse
• Read and record digital weights on a small scale
• Adhere to company policies on weight limits and safety procedures

Essential Skills

• Experience in general labor, construction, manufacturing, or similar environments within the last 5 years
• At least 1 year of continuous employment with the same company within the last 5 years
• Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
• Willingness and ability to drive a forklift
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience with tape measures, cleaning, loading, sweeping, machine operation, sorting, production, manufacturing, food production, general labor, assembly, hand tools, packaging, construction, forklift operation, and power tools

Work Environment

The company maintains a small-town, family-like atmosphere with approximately 30 full-time employees. Safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP) are of utmost importance. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, hairnets, eye protection, jeans, shirts, bump caps, and lab coats. Candidates must adhere to GMPs, including no smoking/tobacco products, perfume/cologne, fingernail polish, jewelry, or piercings. All clothing must be free of rips, tears, holes, or embellishments. The facility can be hot in the summer, reaching up to 90 degrees in some manufacturing rooms, while remaining comfortable in the winter. Work hours are from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm (Monday-Thursday) and 4:00 pm to 2:30 am (Monday-Thursday), with the requirement to work overtime on Fridays. Employees must arrive 15 minutes prior to their shift for temperature screening, and this time is compensated.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
