Your Role

The Governance, Risk, & Compliance Specialist, Senior will report to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Risk Management. The successful candidate for the role understands strategy, operations, and regulatory environments to effectively identify, assess, document, and support mitigation of significant risks that could impact the Blue Shield's ability to be successful in achieving its strategic objectives. Key necessary competencies include critical thinking, business acumen, collaboration, ability to influence others, strong written and verbal communication, efficient time management, and excellent organizational & problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Contribute, support, and lead the maintenance of the Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) repository leveraging agile development methodology
  • Partner with business unit subject matter experts and leaders to understand business needs, author user stories and provide end-user support
  • Maintains GRC process documentation, policies, internal controls, training resources, & communications
  • Support and contribute to the maturation of the GRC framework and governance
  • Provide input to forward-looking strategies and roadmaps to support enterprise objectives

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and five (5) years of prior relevant GRC experience
  • Requires deep knowledge of GRC standards and processes
  • Professional certifications & additional degrees preferred
Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 89100.00 to $ 133650.00 for California.

Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

    • Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.

  • On-Site: Work from a business unit-approved office an average of four (4) or more days a week.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
