Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and has a strong foundation in systems, networking, and cloud technologiesparticularly Microsoft Azure. Experience with AWS and familiarity with compliance requirements such as HIPAA are highly valued. As part of our Managed Services team, you'll support a diverse client base across industries like healthcare, dental, and professional services, working on a mix of support, infrastructure management, and project-based initiatives.


Systems Administration

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
  • Monitor and resolve server-related performance or availability issues.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Perform and monitor regular patching and system hardening in a multi-OS environment.


Network Administration

  • Configure and support firewalls, switches, and wireless access points (Sophos, Extreme Networks, and Ubiquiti).
  • Setup and maintain VPNs, VLANs, and secure remote access.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Assist with network design and new site deployments.


Cloud Infrastructure

  • Design, implement, and support Azure environments, including Azure AD, Intune, conditional access, virtual machines, web apps, and cloud storage.
  • Support and maintain basic to intermediate AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, etc.).
  • Migrate services to the cloud and manage hybrid configurations.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources for cost and performance.


Security & Compliance

  • Maintain and enforce security best practices across systems and cloud platforms.
  • Support clients in regulated industries by aligning infrastructure to compliance standards like HIPAA.
  • Assist with documentation and technical audits.


Other Responsibilities

  • Document work clearly and consistently in ERP and RMM platforms.
  • Contribute to infrastructure planning and project execution.
  • Provide on-site support at client locations as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve tools, processes, and service delivery.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 35 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, ideally within an MSP or multi-client environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365/Azure platforms.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and experience managing firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
  • Experience supporting and managing Azure workloads; AWS exposure is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of RMM/PSA tools, scripting (e.g., PowerShell), and system automation.
  • Awareness of HIPAA or similar compliance standards and how they apply to IT environments.


Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with Linux server administration, especially in environments involving web hosting.
  • Experience with tools or technologies like cPanel, NGINX, Apache, or MySQL.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support basic LAMP/LEMP stack environments.
