Lead Bridge Field Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge layout and stakeout, including excavation limits, foundation forms, walls, rebar, and anchor bolt placement.
• Conduct topographic surveys of excavation areas to ensure accurate site preparation.
• Pin and mark walls, ensuring precise alignment for structural integrity.
• Verify shop drawings against delivered materials, confirming steel beam lengths and alignment.
• Check anchor bolt spacing and alignment before beam replacement to prevent installation errors.
• Ensure accurate measurements and proper placement of all bridge components to meet design specifications.
• Utilize advanced surveying technology, including robotic total stations, GPS systems, and CAD software, to maintain precision.
• Collaborate with engineers, construction teams, and project managers to resolve discrepancies and maintain project timelines.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bridge surveying and construction layout.
• Strong understanding of shop drawings, structural blueprints, and bridge components.
• Proficiency in stakeout, as-built verification, and topographic surveying.
• Experience with GPS-based survey equipment, robotic total stations, and CAD drafting software.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with construction teams.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to ensure accuracy in fieldwork.
• Ongoing training in survey technology, CAD applications, and machine control systems.
• Hands-on experience with advanced imaging techniques and drone photogrammetry.
• Continuous development in bridge-specific survey techniques and verification methods.
