Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Revenue Protection or Customer Service Manager is responsible for monitoring and supervising the daily activities of the Meter Readers and all clerical personnel within the department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Supervises and coordinates activities of the Meter Readers.
- Assigns work to workers and reviews completed work to ensure that work is completed in accordance with specifications and instructions; examines work for accuracy and neatness.
- Prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports, as required, by the Manager or Director.
- Maintains cooperative relationship among workers; visits customers on work sites as necessary to adjust errors and complaints (Line Dept., Business Office, Customers).
- Assists subordinates in performing duties, when necessary.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Ensures that tools, equipment and work area are maintained in a clean and orderly manner; ensures that employees observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Performs work in accordance with safety regulations, company policy and OSHA standards.
- Evaluates employees work performance and make recommendations for improving and upgrading their skills.
- Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers and disciplinary measures.
- Trains and orients new employees to the routines of the operation; interprets company policies on workers.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems; may confer with worker's representatives to resolve grievances.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Knowledge of the geography and street locations of the island; thorough knowledge of electricity.
- Knowledge of Business English, spelling and arithmetic.
- Ability to make simple arithmetic computations accurately.
- Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions.
- Ability to keep complex records and to prepare reports.
- Ability to effectively plan, assign and supervise the work of a number of employees.
- Ability to maintain good communication and effective working relationships with all persons contacted during the course of work in order to coordinate work activities.
- Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in oral and written communication.
- Ability to interpret and explain rules and regulations governing meter reading and billing procedures.

Education & Experience High school diploma supplemented by courses in the electrical trades and five years of progressively responsible experience involving meter reading or meter service work. Two years must have been as Chief Meter Reader or Meter Serviceman 1st Class.
