Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Operates overhead cranes in the plant to strip panels from molds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Inspect all overhead cranes before use at the beginning of each shift, check crane limit switches and fill out checklist on crane
  • Safely transport panels
  • Safely hook panels up to strip from the mold
  • Inspect rigging daily before use
  • Maintain clean safe work area
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • High school or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience with cranes or machinery a plus. Will train completely for each crane
  • Must be able to wear personal protection (PPE) such as work boots, respirators, hard hats, hi-vis vests, safety glasses and hearing protection
  • Works close by, and exposed to, moving construction vehicles such as forklifts, front-end loaders, cranes and tractor-trailers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Must be aware of locations and travel directions of other overhead cranes that may be in close travel proximity as not to hit or impact with other cranes
  • Some lifting of various weights from 5-50lbs
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Indoor environment some limited outdoor
  • Moderate exposure to machine noise
  • Frequently exposed to moving overhead loads
