Job Title: Packager/Operator

Job Description

In this position, you will work directly with 2-5 others on one machine to efficiently package the finished materials as they come out of the machine. These machines are Roll Forming machines, and the main products they produce are metal shingles, siding, and gutters. Each machine will be operated by one Machine Operator II. Depending on the machine and product, you can expect to work with 2-5 other Packagers (Machine Operator I). Each product is visually quality checked to ensure no manufacturing defects are present.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to detail.
• Make boxes, package, palletize, and move products.
• Operate power tools such as drills, staple guns, and other pneumatic tools.
• Learn to operate several machines and work with different groups daily.
• Perform quality checks and measure parts as part of quality assurance.

Essential Skills

• Packaging and production experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate machines and perform quality checks.
• General labor and packing skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and understand tape measures and calculators.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
