Position Title: Paramedic/Critical Care Paramedic

Position Location: Brookfield, IL

Overview:

We are a niche, privately-owned, Critical Care Transport (CCT) ambulance company that has been providing CCT services to the immediate and greater Chicagoland area since 2000. Our teams respond to a wide range of transport calls including pediatric acute illness, preterm labor/high-risk OB, acute trauma and burns, and cardiac emergencies requiring intra-aortic balloon pump therapy or LVAD evaluation and management. We prioritize patients who require acute hospital-to-hospital transport services for a higher level of definitive care. ACT has no dialysis center or convalescent care obligations. Our crews work a rotating 24-on-72-off schedule and enjoy a full kitchen, day room, and bunk room at our station in Brookfield. Position Summary:

The Paramedic/Critical Care Paramedic functions as a member of a three-person critical care transport team responsible for the following:

  • Initiation of medical care within the licensed and certified scope of practice
  • Assisting the Registered Nurse and CCT Crew with all aspects of patient care
  • Participation in team-based interdisciplinary patient care
  • Daily inspections of company vehicles & equipment

Required Qualifications:

  • IDPH Paramedic in good standing
  • AHA Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Trauma Certification: PHTLS/ITLS
  • Loyola EMS system entry (within 30-days of hire; As needed)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for work in the United States
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License
  • Be at least age of 21-years old at the time of application
  • High-school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must be of good moral character with no felony convictions as defined by State Statute (65 IL 5/10-2.1-6)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years experience working an ALS ambulance
  • Experience working a CCT ambulance
  • CCEMT-P, CCP-C, or FP-C certifications
  • Experience operating: Hamilton T1 ventilator, Baxter Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Vapotherm or other HFNC delivery devices, Medfusion 3500 syringe pump, Cardiosave IABP
