As a Security Officer - Armed Government Site - Multiple Shifts in Reno, NV , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry and be prepared to use authorized equipment as needed. You will interact with the public and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate authorities or management.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Follow all protocols for handling and carrying firearms in accordance with company and location-specific guidelines.
  • Document incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports as required by Allied Universal and the location.
  • Assist with access control, verifying identification, and monitoring entry and exit points as needed.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, or baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
