SECURITY RESEARCHER / VULNERABILITY SPECIALIST Title: Security Researcher / Vulnerability Specialist Targeted Start: 11/7/2012 Travel Required: Not Required Overview: This is a technical leadership position with direct reports and is third party facing. Technical responsibilities include vulnerability research and individual assessments of everything from SCADA systems to mobile applications. Location: Downtown San Francisco, CA Responsibilities: Conduct vulnerability research and assessments on various systems. Lead technical teams in security research initiatives. Collaborate with third parties on security-related issues. Qualifications: Experience in security research and vulnerability analysis (6-8 years). Extensive experience in network protocol analysis, with tools such as Wireshark. Expertise in common security vulnerabilities and the ability to perform: Buffer overflow attacks. Teardrop and packet fragmentation attacks. Experience as a team lead (1-3 years). Security consulting experience preferred (1-3 years). Strong technical understanding of vulnerabilities and exploitation methods on: Microsoft Windows platforms. UNIX platforms. Common networking platforms. Knowledge of vulnerability sources (SANS, US-CERT, commercial vendors). Strong analytical skills and ability to defend analysis. Familiarity with paid intelligence sources (Verizon iDefense, RiskIQ, etc.). Aptitude for working with incomplete data and making sound analytical leaps. Quick learning ability for new technologies and industries. Strong presentation and verbal communication skills. Experience in the government or utility industry preferred.
