### About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. This role will be key in creating, developing, and maintaining critical financial reports and analysis that inform management, board members, and the public. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a vital part in the financial planning process, responding quickly to requests, managing tight deadlines, and ensuring a high degree of accuracy. You'll also contribute to the development of utility funding models, which form the foundation for revenue negotiations with funding utilities. Your responsibilities will extend to collaborating on grants and new revenue streams, ensuring compliance, managing financial reporting, and supporting overall financial strategy.
### What You'll Do:
- Work closely with teams across the organization to become an expert on financial data, operational drivers, and performance indicators.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, tracking trends, performance, and forecasting.
- Lead the development of budgets, provide ongoing forecasting, and perform variance analysis to support budget managers.
- Create and maintain detailed models and reports, including cost analysis, revenue requirement analyses, and variance tracking.
- Manage financial administration for grants, collaborating with grant managers on reporting, compliance, and planning.
- Prepare and present periodic financial reports and budget updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to continuously improve internal systems, processes, and cross-functional knowledge.
- Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and provide expertise in financial decision-making.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and professionalism in all job functions.
### What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; professional certification (CPA, CMA) or advanced degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, cost accounting, and grant financial management.
- Proficiency with financial software tools, including ERP systems and MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Comfortable working with a diverse workforce in a remote or in-person setting.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across departments and contribute to team success.
