**Position**: Senior Financial Analyst
**Reports To**: Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis
**Compensation**: Competitive salary ranging from $88,800 to $112,800, based on skills and experience
**Employment Classification**: Full-Time
**Anticipated Start Date**: As soon as possible, position open until filled
**Office Location**: Portland Metro Area, Oregon, USA (Remote options available)
**About the Position**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining financial reports and analyses that are essential for Board, public, and management use. The position requires the ability to respond quickly to requests, meet tight deadlines, and maintain accuracy. The Senior Financial Analyst will also contribute to the creation of utility funding models, which are central to revenue negotiations, and will collaborate with various departments to manage grants and other revenue streams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work closely with all levels of the organization to become an expert on cost, revenue, and operational drivers.
- Conduct enterprise-wide financial analysis, identifying trends and performance indicators.
- Lead financial planning and budget development, supporting forecast and variance analysis, and assisting budget managers in meeting financial targets.
- Create and maintain complex financial models, revenue analyses, cost assessments, and reports.
- Serve as the primary contact for grant financial administration, ensuring compliance and reporting.
- Communicate periodic financial reports and presentations to management and stakeholders.
- Monitor the effectiveness of internal controls during the execution of financial tasks.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve systems, share knowledge, and provide cross-functional support.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to provide expertise and support.
- Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining safety and professionalism.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) or an advanced degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in budgeting, financial planning & analysis, cost accounting, and grant accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong ability to interpret and communicate financial data effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable with both remote and in-person interactions.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams in a culturally inclusive environment.
