Job Summary: UFP Industries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Web Developer with a strong background in back-end development to lead our web development projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern web technologies, best practices, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable web applications. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to the strategic direction of our web development efforts. This position is a full-time, onsite position, based out of Grand Rapids, MI (not a remote position).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: - Lead the design, development, and maintenance of back-end systems for our web applications.
- Collaborate with front-end focused developers, UI/UX designers, and product owners to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Take on complex and critical projects that require architectural design work, advanced technical and problem-solving skills, and often cross-functional collaboration.
- Contribute to front-end development of web applications as needed.
- Develop and maintain APIs, databases, and server-side logic.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and efficiency of back-end systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment and adding documentation where applicable.
- Stay updated with emerging back-end technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of professional web development experience.
- Proficiency in primary programming languages (e.g., C#, JavaScript).
- Experience with relevant backend frameworks and tools (e.g., ASP.NET Core, Node.js).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React).
- Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL/Microsoft SQL Server) and experience with Entity Framework.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Azure Pipelines).
- Preferred experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
- Preferred familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, etc.).
- Solid understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development.
- Preferred knowledge and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office Components including Excel, Word and Outlook.
