Title: Teacher’s Aide

Location: 2225 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90019
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $17.28 /hr. Fulltime with benefits OR $20/hr. part-time (3 days/week) without benefits
Program Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
Supervisory Responsibility of Staff: NONE
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Child Development Specialist (CDS) or Program Manager, prepare for and implement daily programming for children ages birth to five years, who have or are at risk of having developmental delays in a manner that is congruent with ECF’s mission. Maintain a safe, clean school environment

Qualifications
Education/Licenses/Certifications: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Six (6) college units in Early Childhood Education.
Experience: Six months of parenting, babysitting, volunteering, or work experience with young children (birth to five years old). Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:Requirements

Work Environment
This is a program for infants and toddlers (ages birth to five) who have varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Employee may encounter children who are in crisis, exhibiting emotional/psychological distress, or behaving in an aggressive manner. Work is performed at the center. Environment may include frequent interruptions, loud noise, odors, varying indoor temperature, and drafts. Outdoor temperature and weather will vary.
Employee may not be in a room alone with a child unless the door or blinds are open. Children must never be left unattended.
