Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.

• The Unit Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the nursing unit runs efficiently.
• Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, other hospital departments, and unit staff
• Coordinate with Care Management concerning admissions, transfers, and discharges and notify hospitalist if needed
• Maintain and update patients' records for a given unit
• Perform a variety of general clerical and non-clinical patient duties, facilitate communication
• Expedite interdepartmental services and complies and keep records required on the nursing unit
• Assist the nursing staff in coordinating the activity of the unit
• Assist with patient care/quality assurance audits
• Performa any and all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements :

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency

• Strong office skills as well as interpersonal skills will be considered

Preferred Job Requirements: 

• 1 year working as a Unit Secretary in an acute care hospital.
