Wedding & Event Manager Emerald Pines Barn

Job Details:

Part Time position from April-December, with occational dates during Jan.-March.

Hours 10-15+/week (depending on booked events)

Job Summary:

Supervise staff - High school workers and bartenders.

Set up the event hall per client’s layout for events by deadline time.

Supervise and set up the outdoor ceremony site per layout and guest count. 

Work directly with clients to coordinate details of each event.

Oversee set up of decorations by clients.

Enforce venue rules.  

Ensure excellent communication with clients.

Follow the predetermined timeline of events and help where needed.

Stock and serve alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages from the bar.  Bartending experience preferred.  

Other duties and tasks as needed and/or assigned by the owners, including tours of event hall and assistance with booking clients.

Due to the nature of the position and the property, other tasks not listed in the job description may apply at any time. 

Experience:

Excellent management and organisation skills.

• Event planning experience preferred.
• Demonstrates a professional mannerism and strong work ethic.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Problem solving skills.

Schedule:

• 7am-4:30pm Fridays are a must
• Additional hours (as needed) on Saturdays and some Sundays
• Optional weekday evening hours for client tours and special events.

Pay: $19-$21 per hour starting, depending on experience.  

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

Need to be available to work from 7am-4pm Fridays, plus additional hours as needed.
Ability to work independently, flexible hours, without supervision (after training) and function effectively in a customer service environment.
Must be able to communicate in a pleasant manner, in person and in writing.
Physically able to perform all job functions and duties.
Heavy lifting may be required (tables, chairs, kegs)
The position requires sitting, standing, walking, and lifting.
Interact with members of the team in a positive and cooperative manner.
