Summary As a Welder III you will be responsible for performing high mix/ low volume manual TIG welding of Stainless Steel and Aluminum in a high-quality medical device manufacturing environment.
What You'll do as a Welder III - Set-up and operate welding equipment using prescribed methods and procedures to weld parts with acceptable tolerances and standards.
- Build weldments through manual layout and manual surface prep processes when required.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints including standard welding symbols, travelers, and other work instruction documents.
- Position parts to be joined using fixtures and other holding or positioning devices.
- Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
- Assist in problem solving activities.
- Capable of mentoring/ training Associate Welder & Welder I.
- Capable of fitting, purging and welding complete joint penetration (CJP) welds.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting of welding equipment, materials and fixturing.
- Capable of performing visual welding inspection.
- Ability to interpret AWS standards and welding symbols.
- Ability to produce all product lines within the designated area.
- Assist Senior Welder with review of all standard work within designated area.
- Capable of mentoring/training Welder II.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Required: - High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years Welding experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a solid metal fabrication / machining environment required.
Preferred: - Vocational / Technical - Completion of welding training program, preferred
- Welding experience in flux core, MIG, stick, carbon steel, preferred.
Other: - Must be able to use prescribed manual processes in TIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum.
- Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, including all standard welding symbols.
- Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.
- Must have strong math and troubleshooting proficiency and basic computer skills.
- Must have basic welding inspection knowledge and conduct visual inspection.
