A LITTLE ABOUT USAlaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) is a unique electric generation and distribution cooperative, serving 59 communities across Alaska. Our operation spans 46 small, isolated grids relying on a mix of diesel, wind, and solar generation to power 11,513 meters and maintain 515 miles of distribution line.
WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?As a new Wind Turbine Technician at Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, you can expect hands-on training and mentorship to familiarize yourself with the daily tasks. Your schedule will consist of Monday to Saturday shifts, working 10 hours a day, for a 3-week on rotation. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the turbines are operating at peak performance.
You will also assist in performing safety inspections and documenting maintenance activities to uphold the integrity of our operations. This role will give you valuable experience in the renewable energy sector while contributing to the sustainability efforts in Alaska's remote communities.
