Job Description Grace is seeking a Process Engineer for our ART Hydroprocessing Plant to join our Engineering team! This role reports to our Site Technical Manager and is located at our Curtis Bay plant in Baltimore, MD. In this position, you will be responsible for design, testing, troubleshooting, and overseeing implementation of process improvements focused on productivity. Additionally, you will support others on the plant team with long term technical issues. Along with all employees at Curtis Bay, you will participate in the sites environmental, health and safety initiatives and play an integral role in achieving compliance with our EHS policy, including emergency preparedness and response. Responsibilities Develop expertise in plant processes and equipment to become a primary resource for troubleshooting and identifying improvement opportunities. Supports process improvement projects from definition of requirements, through design, execution, and tracking the benefits. Conducts daily plant walkthroughs and inspections to assess process conditions and to identify and address issues. Works with Process Technology team to plan and carry out plant trials for new products and new processes. Conducts and supports commissioning and startup activities, including PHA, PSSR, MOC, writing SOPs/work instructions, and providing training to other plant personnel. Leads data driven RCCA for process deviations, downtime, and EHHS events. Assists with developing project pipeline with data analysis by facilitating process mapping, or value stream mapping events. Physical Requirements and Environment Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Required Qualifications BS in Chemical Engineering or related technical field. 5 years in chemical manufacturing or related process industry. Excellent communication skills - verbal and written, ability to vary style to meet needs. High level of personal motivation with a drive for ownership and accountability in performance of job responsibilities. Ability to work effectively within a team environment with excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in project management processes. Six Sigma or Lean experience – Green/Black Belt certification. Process control system experience.
