Salary: $60,000-$75,000 annually DOE

The fully remote role of the Due Diligence Investigator is to direct all aspects of assigned intelligence collection for due diligence projects on behalf of investment firm clients. Responsibilities include, for each project, interviewing of references and off-list references, development of interview questions, oversight of open source research, the formulation of project objectives, identification of source candidates, preparation and dissemination of intelligence reporting, The Associate Project Manager ensures that each project strongly supports the client’s decision-making process.

 

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Understand the client’s intelligence requirements to formulate clear collection objectives.
  • Develop substantive expertise on the objective company and issues of specific intelligence interest, as well as on the relevant industrial sector.
  • Carry out systematic target analyses to identify prospective intelligence sources.
  • Conduct intelligence collection with persistence, discretion, and a sense of urgency.
  • Report intelligence with objectivity, accuracy, timeliness and clarity.
  • Establish interactive working relationships with client portfolio managers and analysts.
  • Develop insights into each client’s unique investment philosophy, aggressiveness and level of sophistication, and manage each project accordingly.
  • Educate clients, on an ongoing basis, on the application and value of intelligence.
  • Observe both the spirit and letter of the law by complying with all applicable legal requirements, including those associated with insider trading laws.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in intelligence collection or commercial due diligence.
  • Practical experience with the private sector, in one or more industries of interest to the investment community.
  • Familiarity with company financial reporting and SEC filings.
  • Experience with SmartSheet, LexisNexis & Westlaw preferred.
  • Familiarity and comfort with cold calling.

  • Ability to juggle numerous projects involving multiple industries simultaneously.
  • Fluency in a secondary language helpful.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Interest in consulting, business analysis or investment research fields.
