Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced
Education Policy Consultantfor our client, a leading nonprofit advocate for public education in Sacramento, CA ! This is a hybrid, direct-hire position. Overview: This role provides consulting services to governing boards, school district administrators, and elected officials regarding educational policies and requirements. The ideal candidate will offer policy development support, training, and technical assistance, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities: - Facilitate policy development workshops and draft/edit district policies.
- Analyze legislative trends and recommend policy updates.
- Present policy information to stakeholders and respond to technical inquiries.
- Collaborate with policy production teams to update district manuals.
- Build positive relationships with external stakeholders and represent the organization at public engagements.
- Travel frequently across California to provide consulting services.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in education policy, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of policy development or consulting experience, preferably in education or legislative settings.
- Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state educational laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in policy writing, technical documentation, and office software.
- Valid California Drivers License and willingness to travel statewide.
Compensation: This position offers an annual salary between $72,000-$80,000 annually in addition to health, dental, and vision benefits, 10 paid holidays with 2 additional weeks off during December, 15 days of paid time off, sick leave, life and disability insurance, and a pension retirement plan.
