Job Description

We are looking for the next leader to guide and direct the activities of our business and financial leadership! Echo was recently acquired by Sonepar. As a Finance Manager, this role will grow to become the main liaison between the former Echo Electric business footprint and management of the consolidated operating company (OpCo). This position has dual reporting lines to the Echo Chief Financial Officer and the Springfield Electric VP Finance.

How you will contribute:

Business and Financial Leadership

  • Continuous financial review to control and monitor the business and improve its performance
  • Collaborate with other functional areas including Sales, Operations, Pricing, Purchasing, and HR to drive process improvement through the organization
  • Provide accurate, timely and meaningful reporting, including analytics to highlight areas for improvement and cost savings, more specifically ensure a close follow-up of discretionary, adaptable and controllable costs
  • Work with other finance leadership to ensure that a strong and reliable internal control framework exists in the Company, enhance and adapt it in collaboration with other functional leaders, develop and implement procedures improving the operational excellence of the Company that effectively manage the risks
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of action plans and recommendations made by internal or external auditors or by Sonepar Internal Control team in a timely manner
  • Communicate and report transparently to OpCo and Regional leadership

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts at the Company and branch level, including analysis against actual performance
  • Develop and prepare metrics and reports for operations, regions, and branches
  • Prepare management commentary and financial presentations
  • Support Sonepar FP&A on required reporting and analysis
  • Anticipate and foresee evolution of the financial aspects of the Company, inform management of trends, evolutions, risks and opportunities

Finance Operations

  • Assist in the management and development of the team of local financial operations resources, including the Credit team and Payable team.
  • Enforce all Sonepar policies, ensure controls are in place and operating effectively
  • Manage the T&E and inventory corporate card program within the Concur platform
  • Participate in ERP and other software conversions that impact financial reporting processes.
  • Participate in the management of banking activities in partnership with OpCo and Sonepar finance teams.

Accounting

  • Financial ownership of all accounts
  • Manage local efforts for monthly closing process to achieve OpCo level objectives and deadlines.
  • Collaborate and maintain a strong relationship with Shared Services and the Corporate Finance team including Tax, Treasury, Risk Management, and M&A
  • Manage internal and external audits of various types
  • Research and resolution of accounting issues, development of accounting estimates.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10 or more years’ experience with customer receivables, collections, and credit evaluation.
  • Proven experience managing a team with in-person and remote members.
  • Demonstrated success with process improvement and optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
