Job Title: Mobile Experience Testing (MXT) Specialist
Location: Overland Park, KS (Onsite only – Remote is not an option)
Rate: Submit at Market Rate

About the Role

A leading telecommunications company is seeking a Mobile Experience Testing (MXT) Specialist to join their team in Overland Park, KS. This onsite role requires a skilled professional with expertise in quality engineering, telecommunications, and mobile device testing. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless performance, functionality, and compatibility of mobile devices and systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities

Quality Engineering

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Identify test scenarios, edge cases, and risks for thorough coverage.
  • Manage defect reporting, tracking, and resolution using issue-tracking systems.
  • Communicate test progress, status, and risks to stakeholders effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently.

Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with developers, QA analysts, and product managers to align on testing objectives and project goals.
  • Participate in project meetings and retrospectives, sharing insights for improvement.
  • Reproduce, debug, and verify defect fixes, ensuring timely resolution.

Telecommunications Testing

  • Validate rate plans for voice, text, and data to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Analyze test results to identify areas for improvement and collaborate on network optimizations.
  • Evaluate the impact of rate plan changes on billing systems and network utilization.
  • Leverage knowledge of telecom standards and protocols (LTE, VoLTE, 5G, IMS) to enhance testing efforts.

Mobile Device Testing

  • Conduct in-depth testing of mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and wearables.
  • Evaluate device features such as call quality, data speeds, battery life, and user interface responsiveness.
  • Perform hands-on testing in RF chambers and real-world scenarios to assess device performance.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 4–6 years in quality engineering or software/hardware testing.
  • 2+ years in telecommunications testing, focusing on devices and network infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of hands-on mobile device testing.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications standards and protocols (LTE, VoLTE, 5G, IMS).
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with RF chamber testing and hands-on testing of real devices.
  • Familiarity with mobile network infrastructure and billing systems.
  • Knowledge of issue-tracking systems and mobile testing frameworks.
